Austin Convention Center June Calendar Brings Over 32,000
to Four Conventions, A Consumer Show, Five Conferences
and Two Rollergirl matches

Over 8,000 expected attend June events, including four consumer shows, at the Palmer Events Center.

June, 2008.  Austin, Texas. -  Eleven events, including four conventions, are expected to bring over 32,000 people to the Austin Convention Center this month.  The calendar also includes five conferences, two TXRD Lonestar Rollergirl matches and a consumer show.

The first week begins with the World Wellness Weekend consumer show and a Lonestar Rollergirls match on June , and ends with 15,000 attending the Texas Democratic Party State Convention, June 5-7.  Another 11,000 will be attending three more conventions:  Texas Association of Secondary School Principals’ Summer Workshop, June 11-13; Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals’ HITEC 2008, June 16-19; and American Society for Metals International Conference & Exposition, June 21-26.  Three of the four conventions (75%) represent new business to the convention center.

The five conferences at the Center include: Legal Digest Law Conference, June 10; State Bar of Texas’ Juvenile Law Course, June 12-13; Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association Meeting, June 16; International Association of Exhibition and Events’ Top Technology Trends, June 18; and Bodymechnics massage Services, Inc./Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage’s 2008 Secrets of Deep Tissue, June 28-29.  The TXRD Rollergirls return to the Center on June 22.

The Palmer Events Center will also experience a busy June with an estimated 8,300 filling the facility.  The four consumer shows include:  Art of Living Foundation’s Art of Living Course Part 1, June 6-9; 2008 Bridal Extravaganza, June 8; June City-Wide Garage Sale, June 21-22; and Christian Home Education Association of Central Texas’ Conference & Book Fair, June 27-28.  The Association of Legal Administrators will hold their 2008 ALA Educational Seminar & Legal Vendor Expo, June 19.

About six million people have attended over 2,500 events, including 586 conventions, at the Austin Convention Center since it opened in 1992.  The Palmer Events Center, which opened in 2002, is the popular site for over 100 different events each year.
