Austin Convention Center July Calendar Features
Conventions, Conferences, Rollergirl Matches

At the Palmer Events Center, over 6,000 are expected attend July events, including three consumer and trade shows.

July, 2008.  Austin, Texas. -  Two conventions, four conferences, and two Rollergirl matches are expected to bring 20,000 to the Austin Convention Center in July. The month ends with two more conventions moving into the facility for their August show dates.

July conventions at the Austin Convention Center include:  Netroots Nation, July 16-20; and Texas PTA, July 25-27.  Netroots represents new business for the convention center, while Texas PTA is returning for the sixth consecutive year. Both the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce and National Instruments will begin moving into the facility at the end of July for their August conventions. 

There are four conferences in July at the Center:  Association of Texas Professional Educators, July 10-12; Proyecto Libertad USA Conference, July 11-13; DELL Shareholder’s Meeting, July 18; and a 2008 Fort Hood Meeting, July 23. TXRD Lonestar Rollergirls matches are scheduled July 13 and July 27. 

The Palmer Events Center will also experience a busy July with an estimated 6,000 expected to attend eight events.  Consumer and trade shows scheduled at the PEC include:  2008 Spa Show, July 18-20; the July City-Wide Garage Sale, July 19-20; and the Austin American Statesman Career Expo, July 29.  Other events include:  2008 Desalination:  Issues and Coniderations Conference, July 7; City of Austin Neighborhood Planning & Zoning Department Town Hall Meeting, July 9;  H H Aga Khan Regional Council’s Khushiali Celebration, July 12; Belva McKann Training and Consulting meeting, July 12; and Texas Department of Information Resources’ meeting, July 21-25.

Over 6.2 million people have attended about 2,600 events, including over 600 conventions, at the Austin Convention Center since it opened in 1992.  The Palmer Events Center, which opened in 2002, is the popular site for about 100 different events each year.
